Two Homes. One Vision.

The A-Frame started as a customized Den Outdoors A-Frame, modified by the owner (steeper roof pitch, second-story bathroom, custom finishes) and set on an extraordinary bluff above the Sequatchie Valley, on the Cumberland Plateau in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee. What began as a single retreat became the foundation for something more.

Jackson Point was designed from scratch by the same owners and built by Heartwood Homes Chattanooga — a one-of-a-kind home that carries the modern sensibility of The A-Frame but pushes further into its own architectural identity. The influence leans West Coast modern — clean horizontal lines, natural materials, floor-to-ceiling glass oriented entirely toward the valley — while staying rooted in the warmth and texture of the mountain setting. Every room was designed around the view.

Both homes sit in the Tennessee mountains near Monteagle, Sewanee, and Chattanooga — private, elevated, and unlike anything else in the region. These are full-sized, custom-built homes on 5–7 private acres each. No shared driveways, no neighboring units, no sightlines to another property. Not tiny homes. Not treehouses. Not glamping. Real homes built for real stays.

Common Questions

Everything you need before you book. More questions? Contact us directly.

Is it safe to book directly instead of through Airbnb?

Yes — we're commercially insured and use identical policies, liability waivers, and rental agreements for direct bookings as we do on Airbnb. You get the same protections, just without the platform fees.

What is the cancellation policy?

Full refund for cancellations 30+ days before check-in. Within 30 days: full refund within 24 hours of booking if 14+ days out. After that, 50% refund up to 14 days before check-in. No refund within 14 days of arrival.

Are pets or children allowed?

Service animals are welcome. No other pets. Children under 12 are not permitted due to the bluff hazard — toddlers may be allowed with prior consent. Minimum age for the primary guest is 25.

Which stay should I choose?

Choose The A-Frame for a romantic, sky-high escape; choose Jackson Point for architectural immersion and a dedicated wellness experience.

Both properties sleep the same number of guests, so it comes down to the experience you're after.

The A-Frame A more intimate, cozy retreat — set on a dramatic bluff above the Sequatchie Valley with a classic open-concept loft layout. Panoramic valley views from every room, an Alaskan cedar hot tub, deck fire pit, and exceptional dark-sky stargazing. If you love the romance of a bluff-top A-Frame with sweeping valley views, there's nothing quite like it.

Jackson Point Larger (~2,150 sq ft vs. ~1,400 sq ft) with a more private configuration — two fully separated bedrooms, making it well-suited for two couples traveling together. Its extra size adds the dedicated Music & Wellness Room with the ofuro-style cedar soaking tub enclosed by 14-foot bifold doors, plus the full vinyl station. If privacy between guest rooms and an indoor spa experience matter most, Jackson Point is the choice.

The two properties are about 1 hour 15 minutes apart on the Cumberland Plateau. Rather than trying to visit both in one trip, we'd suggest saving the second for a return stay — one in the spring for wildflowers and waterfalls, one in the fall for the foliage. They're different enough to feel like entirely separate experiences.

Are you near the Smoky Mountains?

We're on the Cumberland Plateau — part of the same Appalachian Mountain range, about 2–2.5 hours west of the Great Smoky Mountains. The Plateau offers the same mountain landscape with a fraction of the crowds. No Gatlinburg traffic, no strip-mall sprawl, no packed parking lots at trailheads. Just private bluffs, dark skies, and some of the best waterfalls and hiking in Tennessee — including Fall Creek Falls, the tallest waterfall in the eastern US. If you're looking for a luxury mountain cabin in Tennessee without the Smokies congestion, the Cumberland Plateau is where the locals go.

How are your properties different from treehouses or tiny homes?

Both properties are full-sized, design-forward homes — not tiny homes, not treehouses, not converted shipping containers. The A-Frame is 1,400 square feet with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Jackson Point is 2,150 square feet with two bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a dedicated Wellness Room. Both have real kitchens, full living rooms, and dedicated dining areas.

Each property sits on its own private acreage — five acres at The A-Frame, seven at Jackson Point. No shared driveways, no neighboring units, no sightlines to another property. The A-Frame is a customized Den Outdoors build (featured in their guide), and Jackson Point was designed from scratch by the owners and built by Heartwood Homes Chattanooga. Both are custom-built homes, not prefab or modular.

How far are you from Atlanta, Nashville, and Chattanooga?

Both properties sit on the Cumberland Plateau within an easy drive of the Southeast's major cities. The A-Frame is about 35 minutes from Chattanooga; Jackson Point is about 50 minutes. Both are roughly 2 hours from Nashville and about 2.5–3 hours from Atlanta. Full drive times for each home are on the A-Frame and Jackson Point pages.
